Collage

I’ve been creating Analog collages since childhood, and have since delved into exploring this medium and its applications. The immediacy of gathering, arranging, then strategically glueing images is directed by both the conscious and subconscious mind. A culmination of fragments then form a greater whole, recognizable on some plane, whether of memory or dreams. Collages offer keys to unlocking deeply held experiences best expressed through a personal language of imagery.

Paintings

I paint with acrylics, working in response to a completed collage that’s often been torn apart. Once my subconscious sets the groundwork through collaging, painting then opens the composition, and plays with the narrative's dynamics. In my ARCHIVES are veil paintings, which engage the spiritual realms beyond the subconscious. They are created with each layer of color suggesting what comes next, rather than my leading the work along.

Bookworks

I join the world of printed matter, in the margins of Artists’ Books. The private musings in my limited-editions are structured to be openly shared. In narrative sequence, with image and text, a reader joins and interacts with the lone voice of each, in conversations where questions can multiply that concern relationships, group beliefs—even the influences of angelic beings upon mortals' lives.

Textiles

I apply my lifelong skills with collage, surface design, and fabric to interior decor. My Travel Textiles series is focused on one-of-a-kind wall-hangings. Made from recycled fabrics, they are pieced into compositions based on Golden Means proportions. Each then evokes impressions of the art, culture, and architecture of the global places they reference. Prior to this, I created repeat designs for commercial textile companies that produced them as woven yardages. For national interior design showrooms, I produced lines of hand-painted wall coverings.

Jewelry

Held in my ARCHIVES is jewelry I’ve designed to have my own simple, solid, go-to pieces for accessorizing.
Sterling silver is cut, bent, and hammered smooth, gold is crimped. I choose natural, un-faceted stones to strike a balance between crude and refined, ancient and modern.
I have collaborated with metal smiths/jewelry designers Michelle Gleeson, Ohio and Julianne Renzema, OR. www.renziannidesigns.com

Commissions

For both avid patrons, creative professionals, and institutions, I meet requests for commissions with enthusiasm. From my children’s years in Waldorf schools, I devoted a decade to facilitating myriad fine art and design projects. These ranged from classroom artworks for benefit auctions, to backdrops and environments for plays and festivals. Beyond this period, I've turned my acceptance of requests to personalized mixed media paintings, book covers, and album art. I apply my vision towards realizing clients' artistic objectives with clear communication for ideal results.
